Jamaica

What? Were you expecting a photo of us on white sand beaches lounging by crystal clear ocean waters? Well, so was I, but it turns out Doty and I occasionally buckle down and make one of those mature adult decisions people are always trying to force on you, particularly post-procreation. That decision leads to you looking at this rather ordinary picture of 22 boxes of tile, trowels, sponges, a dozen bags of thinset and grout, tile spacers, 25 pieces of backer board, new bathroom fixtures, and the list goes on...and on and all of this equates to the price of the Jamaican vacation I spent so much time planning and researching, but will not actually be taking. In it's stead I will spend the next month few months installing watching Doty and my dad install tile flooring in our kitchen, hallway, and bathroom as well as completely remodeling our bathroom.

So, what's my role in this installation? To chase the kids off the stacked boxes of tile 700 times a day, of course. That, and to negotiate the release of the cleaning sponge Anders has declared "Spongebob" and insisted on sleeping with at night.

Besides, nagging men while they slave over do-it -yourself home projects is a time honored tradition in my family.
